Four archangels look down

Speed reading — your brain fills in the rest

While all this chaos is happening on the ground, the book cuts to a different camera angle: heaven, looking down. And four great angels see the whole mess.

You might know their names, because they show up all over later stories: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel. In the Book of Enoch, these four are the good angels — the ones who stayed loyal, the ones still doing their job.

They look down at the ruined earth — the blood, the giants, the stolen secrets, the human beings screaming for help — and they carry that cry all the way up to the throne of God. They basically say: 'Look at what's happening down there. Are you going to let this stand?'

✦
Revelation

This is a quiet, powerful moment. The book is saying that suffering doesn't go unseen. Even when the world looks completely out of control, the cry gets heard. Somebody upstairs is paying attention, and a response is coming.

And the response is coming. God is about to answer — for the Watchers, for the giants, and for the whole broken world. But God is also going to do something no one expects. He's going to send a human being to deliver the message. A man who walks with him. You already know his name.

◆ Practice

Being seen

3 min
  1. 1Think of a time you felt completely unseen, like no one noticed what you were carrying.
  2. 2The archangels model something simple: they notice, and they speak up.
  3. 3Today, be an archangel for one person. Notice someone who's struggling and say one kind, true thing to them. Heaven hears the cry — and sometimes you're how it gets heard.
