The Matrix of Time
TIME IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS
You feel time as a river. It moves, it never turns back, it never stops. Physics says that is not the whole story. Einstein showed that time bends and slows depending on how fast you move and how strong gravity is. The GPS satellites over your head correct for this every second, or they would drift miles off. Many physicists accept the 'block universe' picture, where past, present, and future all exist at once, and the feeling of 'now' comes from your mind, not from the world. J.W. Dunne recorded hundreds of dreams that seemed to show the future and published them in 1927. The Aberfan disaster killed 116 children, and dozens of people reported seeing it coming; those reports were collected and checked. Princeton ran an engineering lab for twenty-eight years and found small but real effects suggesting consciousness touches time in ways we cannot explain. Hindu cosmology worked out the length of the current cosmic cycle, and the number lines up with modern astronomy. The Mayan Long Count tracked the 26,000-year wobble of the Earth with startling accuracy. This course does not guess. It follows the evidence, from lab physics to ancient star-watching to well-documented strange events, and asks you to update what you think time really is.
