Words have moved more people than any army has. This course is a historical archive. It holds the actual speeches of seven of history's most powerful speakers, translated and kept exactly as they were spoken. No commentary tells you what to think. No editor decides what is acceptable. The words are shown as they were said, with the time and place they were said in, and you decide what to make of them. We include Adolf Hitler because his speeches exist and shaped history. Whatever you believe about that history, the words were spoken and millions responded to them. We include Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Napoleon, Caesar, and Marcus Aurelius for the same reason. Each chapter gives you one figure's most important speeches and the events around them. That is all. The archive preserves. It does not judge. You are the judge.
