Start with a strange fact. In the whole Bible, almost everyone dies. Kings, prophets, giants, heroes — they all get a birth, a life, and an ending. But there are two people who don't. One of them is a man named Enoch.
Enoch lived seven generations after Adam. Count them: Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, and then Enoch. Seventh in line. He was the great-grandfather of Noah — yes, the ark guy. So this is deep, deep in the old story, before the flood.
The Bible says Enoch 'walked with God.' That's a small phrase, but it's doing a lot of work. Everyone else 'lived' and then 'died.' Enoch 'walked with God' — and then he was just gone. Not buried. Not dead. Taken.
Read that again. 'He was not, for God took him.' That's the entire death notice — except it isn't a death. God just took him. Where? The Bible doesn't say. But another ancient book claims it knows exactly where Enoch went, and exactly what he saw when he got there.
